Project Pricer

About Project Pricer

Project Pricer helps homeowners budget for common home projects — roofing, HVAC, remodels, and 35 other categories — with realistic, localized price estimates. We built it because most cost guides online either quote a single vague national number or make you fill out a lead-gen form just to see a range. We wanted a straight answer: what does this actually cost where you live.

How we build our estimates

Each price range starts from national average cost data for that project type, drawn from industry cost-reporting sources (contractor trade associations, remodeling cost surveys, and public construction-cost indices) rather than a single vendor's price list. We then apply a regional cost-of-living and labor-rate adjustment for each of the 179+ metro areas we cover, so a kitchen remodel in San Francisco and one in Tulsa aren't shown at the same price.

The "low," "average," and "high" figures represent a typical range for a standard-scope project in that category — not a quote. Every home, contractor, and project scope is different, which is why every page on this site tells you to get 2–3 itemized local quotes before making a decision.

What we don't do

We're not a lead-generation service, and we don't sell your information to contractors. We don't accept payment from contractors to rank higher in any list. Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense and are not endorsements of any advertiser.

How often we update

Cost data is reviewed and refreshed periodically to track material and labor cost trends. Pages are dated by year so you can see at a glance how current the figures are.

Questions or corrections
